dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to find out the attitudes of university of cape coast students towards co-curricular activities. The research design was descriptive in nature. The data were sampled from 680 respondents comprising of 600 level hundred to four hundred regular students, 30 hall administrators and 25 sports, entertainment committee members and 25 religious denomination executives. Questionnaires and interview guide were instruments used in collecting the data employing convenience and purposive sampling procedures which gave a reliability coefficient of .70. The ultimate results of the analysis of the data revealed that, students who participated in the study did not consider co-cUlTicular activities important, hence had poor attitude towards it. It was therefore recommended that the University of Cape Coast administration together with the dean of student step up on the education on co-curricular activities and making sure that all students participate in at least one co-curricular activity representing one credit hour in addition to the existing curriculum before a student graduate.
